Locate radiator draincock
I have a 93 JGC and I'm putting in a new thermostat because I think the one I have it stuck open resulting in no heat. Is the draincock in the drivers side or the passenger side of the radiator and do I have to remove anything to get to it? I went under the car and couldn't locate it one. Or do I just need to jack it up to get a better look? Thanx

The 4.0 has the drain on lower corner passenger side.
If you have skid plates you'll need a drain hose to attach to drain. |

Re: Locate radiator draincock
4.0L on the passengerside of radiator facing the engine. 5.2L/5.9L engines the draincock is on the driverside facing the engine.
on the V8 models the draincock on the OEM radiator - u have to twist and pull it to get it off (it does not unscrew), not sure about on the 4.0L engines. |

Am I going to have to take the skidplate off in order to reach the draincock cause I don't see any other way to reach it. It's on the passenger side facing the engine I just located it but couldn't reach it..

If your hands small enough you can work around the skid plate.
you should be able to slide a piece of tubing over the end of drain down to a bucket. try turning the drain wing using a open end wrench. taking that skid plate off is a PIA. |
