Re: American muscle vs. Japanese near luxury vs. Japanese rally icon

I was talking about track performance, not quarter mile performance, and in that regard, the Evo is the clear winner most of the time.

And the STi's interior is not bad at all. The plastics are fine and the build quality is rock solid. No, it can't compared to a Volkswagen or an Infiniti, those are damn luxury cars. And Honda interiors have always had a slightly more upscale feel to them. It's not a luxurious interior, but it's functional and put together soundly, so please stop hating on it everybody.

Re: American muscle vs. Japanese near luxury vs. Japanese rally icon

id say G35 if i had tobuy today, if it was 07 it would be the stang(COBRA) as far assome of the frist post of the mustang being ugly thats to each his own, and as for ford being lazy?? No they are just making the mustang and GT look as they should.. I mean if you saw a G35 body called the mustang it would be sad, it would be agenst all that the name ever was so to me the retro look was a BIG PLUS.. But thats me

oh yea and i never buy first year models..... too many bugs so yea another prob with the 05 stang

STi would rock all of them... sorry to say but the mustang would get smoked like a blunt in the 60s!

Well the no-torque G35 and the goofy looks of the STi have me voting for the V8 Mustang.

^270 ft-lb of torque is not bad for a car, but considering the '05 Mustang GT makes that much at the wheels I'm sure you can feel the difference.:22yikes:

Ah, ive been spoiled by my truck which makes a pretty good 340 fl-lb. And compared to the mustang and STI it does not make as much. Oh and from the first post the g35 has "260TQ@4800RPM". Not 270.

Re: American muscle vs. Japanese near luxury vs. Japanese rally icon

Well, it's confusing depending on what year/body style/transmission. For 2005, all auto tranny cars make 280 HP and 270 TRQ, and all manual tranny cars make 298 HP and 260 TRQ. In 2003/2004, all coupes made 280 HP and 270 TRQ, and all sedans made 260 HP and 260 TRQ. So you are right, for the purposes of this comparison, the car has 260 TRQ. But still, that's not high-strung at all, especially when compared to such a V6 as the one in the Acura TL.
