fuel guage

ok guys need little help here,bought a neon from a guy it run good and every thing else sounds good but found out the fuel guage is backwards or something,it says full but it ran out of gas ,,filled it up and the guage indicates empty and the little gas pump sigh on the guae is blinking,they must of replaced the fule pump and wired it backwards,i could use it like that but the blinking is driving me crazy,need help how to switch it around,,,thanks for any help,,,
