miles to service reset

I have a 93 GC Limited with 5.2.I can't seem to get my miles to service reminder to reset.Tryed what the manual showed(hold select and set buttons with ignition on)no luck.All other functions seem to work fine in the info center(setting clock).Any suggestions?

Did you hold the buttons for at least 5 seconds?
