rough sound while starting

My girlfriend has a 2001 Dodge Neon,its making a rough sound when she starts when you turn on the car. Sometimes,it will pull when you start it up & put it in Drive.I checked the oil yesterday,apparently she had none in it.And she managed to burn the dip stick.Dont know how long she was driving with no oil,but wondering what the noise is & what problems it may have now

And the oil light never came on? I hear if you drive it with no oil in it, you pretty much need a new engine. GL

Nope no oil light, she says it has flickered a couple of times, other than that nothing. Is it possible that noise is coming from the oil pan? or tranny. I dont know anything much about cars, just taking the interior out, changing oil, and putting a head gasket on, but I cheated because I had a friend & the Neon repair guide

Off topic a little, you say you know how to take the interier out? I was thinking about painting my Interier, but have no idea how to take the plastic around the gear changer (automatic) you know, between the seats, where that storage space is, then leades to the gears, then forums into two cup holders under the cig lighter. i know how to take everything else off. after i get it off, i next need to learn how to paint >_<

Hey man, take it to a mechanic, get it looked at for free, estimate how much it will cost.
