need advice on 5002 amp

just purchased a rockford fosgate p5002 amp. I own a wagon and want to know what type of 12" subs I should buy. I was looking at some p1 subs at ultamate electronic for about 315 with the box. Are there beter deal on diferent sub for this amp.

well not sure what to recommend for you right now.. atlas 15? im sure these other guys will give plenty of suggestions for a 500 rms sub thatll run @ 4 ohms. but dont get 2 12s.. just get a single 15. yields almost equal SPL.. and usually much cheaper than 2 12s.

and no that deal sucks. if they truly are p1s.. you should be able to get 2 12s for like $110.. but they suck. i have a friend who has them. if all you need is very entry level bass, then ok, but i wouldnt recommend them.

IT says that the rms on the 15 is only 300w isnt my amp pushing like 500. couldnt i run 2 12 with good results or do you recomend 1 15 at 500w

The 300 watt rating is very conservative ..... thermally it will EASILY take over 500 watts. The reason for the 300 watt rating is that the sub RARELY(being box dependant) needs over 300 watts for full output. So basically this sub is VERY VERY efficient and will get very loud and still sound AWSOME with as little as 300 watts. You will have to be VERY careful if you d get this sub because it employs XBL^2 motor technology, which gives it extremely good sound quality and you will not hear the sub stressing when your pushing it past its mechanical limits. So if you do decide to get this sub you will need to have a multimeter so you can set your gains for the needed power in your selected enclosure.

a single 15 is almost as loud as 2 12's so it saves a lot of money
