acura integra 1996 ever so loud & noisy...
man is this car noisy or what? when I drive it, the noise inside the cabin is very loud. most of the noise seems to come from the tires. is there something to do to reduce this other than changing the tires ? after market kit? wrapping the hood?
please comment herb.

what type of tires are you using? do you get your wheels aligned after you get new ones or rotate them? all weather tires and snow tires are going to be more noisy than the regular summer ones. if they aren't aligned there would definitely be some noise.

I do use winter tires now, but the noise is also very loud with summer tires
the alignment is also perfect I have done some reading on the net and they say that integras around that year are loud.... any of you have done some work on the car to cure this problem? thanks herb.

About the only thing you can do is pull put the seats and carpet and put down some sound deadoner. You can also remove the side panels and coat the back side of the out side body panels with it too. This will help with the raod noise a lot. It won't be real cheap but it work.

thanks for your help regarding sound deadoner, have you tryed that yourself? I'm not familiar with this stuff. what does it look like, how much and where to buy? would you have a link for this?

Personally i think they ay be a bit of a problem with something not sealing or somethign because i have a 1996 Sedan and it is very quite inside. I often drive withou music and all i can hear is the engine and maybe a little raod noise but only with my yokohama max performance summer tires. Maybe the source of your noise is not just a fault of the car in stock trim. Just my thoughts.

Kornflakes... you might be on something were....
tonight while driving up north I was playing around with the car...at low speed , like 50 to 70 KM, I noticed if I stir the car left a bit, the noise is reduced a bit; if the car goes straight or right, the noise come back. but it get more complicated.... at hight speed, there is no difference what so ever.. the tire noise is there and if I play with the stering , it doesn't change anything..... So maybe a bit of bad alignment combined with weak tires?? what do you think? stef
