Hot Rod Lincoln

Hello everybody! I am new to the forum and have an interesting question for ya'll.

I have recently acquired a '92 Town Car Executive series. The body and frame are perfect, one owner and no accidents. The motor and tranny are blown though. So we need to drop in a new one. Heres the thing. I love the look and feel of the TC but hate its weak proformance. My friends and I are looking to completely gut the car and try to make it a "hot rod" so to speak. New motor, tranny, racing suspension, exhaust, everything. The problem is we have never worked on a car like this or Fords in general and are looking for some help. So we are looking for advice on 1.) if its possible and 2.) what types of motors will fit in the hood? We were thinking of something with 425hp or more such as a 390FE cobra/mustang motor.

If someone could help us figure out the specs on the chassis and what not it would help a lot. If it is possible I will be posting the pics of the progress when it gets under way.

Any info would be helpful.
Thanks.

Re: Hot Rod Lincoln

Thank you for the info. Apparently it will fit in a '92 as well. The question is whether to switch it to a carbureted engine or keep it an efi.
