Buzzing sound from back of 92 wagon

Can anyone help us out with a sound my wife and I are hearing in our 92 Legacy wagon?

It sounds like a small motor is running constantly somewhere in the back of the vehicle even when the car is turned off (while key is still in ignition).

We have heard about ABS motors doing this but not sure if that is our problem.

Any ideas or direction would be much appreciated.

Found out that it is coming from the back door so it must be related to the rear windshield wiper (?) Disabled the sound (and my wiper blades and washer fluid) by removing a fuse.

Any ideas for my next step?
