Low Coolant light goes on and off

Hi I have been having this problem for a little while now and it is really confusing me, yes the coolant is about a cup low but what really amazes me is that the overflow doesn't appear to be letting any fluid into the radiator, and the temperature on the gauge is normal if not a little low. I have changed the hose from the radiator to the overflow and it appears to be open. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

The low coolant sensor is located about half way down on the passenger side of the radiator.First try tapping on it with the head of a screw driver a few times and see if that helps. If that didnt work remove the sensor and clean it out,it can get plugged up with that great dex-cool GM use's.If the first 2 fail then it's time to replace the sensor.

You can see the inside of the sensor and how it may become plugged

I took mine out and cleaned it a couple days ago. No more light.
