Hello All!
I'm new to the board but I was hoping someone could help me with a strange problem. I have a 2004 Alero Final 500 sedan with the exclusive 16" wheel package. Since I didn't want they alloys ruined in the New England winter, I purchased a set of snow tires on 15" GM steel wheels and then I purchased a set of OEM 15" Alero GX plastic wheel covers so that it would at least look decent. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how in the world these plastic wheel covers they attach to the steel wheel. There are some wimpy plastic clips around the perimeter but they don't even come in contact with the rim to secure in place. The only part of the wheel cover that comes into any kind of contact with the steel wheel itself are the phony silver bolts. They touch the actual bolts on the steel wheel but they slip off very easily and I cannot image how they could be held on for any length of time. Any help would be greatly appreciated since my Alero looks pretty silly with the cheap, aftermarket wheel covers I was forced to buy! |

Re: 15" GX Wheelcovers
You have to get special lugs with a thread on the outside. The they screw using the phony silver bolts. Go to a parts shop and they should be able to help you.

Thank you so much. You know, I took a look at the phony lugs on the wheel covers and I thought I saw threads on the inside but I never expected that there would actually be threaded lugs out there to use with these. Thank you again! I am eternally grateful!
