auto shifter replacement?

well id like to replace the knob in my g20, i have a razo knob from my old accord, its a simple aluminum knob that i was able to use with my automatic tranny on the accord but it has no od button, what i was thinking of doing was just tearing the old knob off of the shifter, assuming that its round like the inside part of the knob, and using the clamp it comes with and putting it on and taking the od button and placing it somewhere else, is there any easier way to do this, cause im thinking my plan may not work and i may end up costing myself money when i shouldnt have, if anyone could give me advice on that id appreciate it, sorry if i posted in the wrong forum, i wasnt sure.. thanks
