Question Another wiper problem

My wipers were left on when the car was shut off and so the drivers side wiper doesn't work. I got the arm off thanks to another thread, but instead of a nut there is just a large gear with fine splines pressed onto the shaft. The splines outside are fine but the gear spins on the shaft, so I assume that its stripped there. How do I get the gear off the shaft? Is it possible to do the tape repair mentioned in other threads? I'd like to get this done soon because bad weather is on the way.

Is this a 96 or newer Caravan/Voyager? On the fron wiper I pressume. If the splines are stripped on the little "tit" that sticks up from inside the cowl at the base of the windshield, then you can use J-B Weld or similar stuff to "glue" it back on. My 98 had this done to the wiper arm where it attaches and I cant get the S.O.B. to come off, so I know it will work, plus theres a nut on top to hold it down. You can also got to a junkyard and buy a good used one and replace the whole wiper arm transmission.
