1997 Dodge Ram Trans

I have a 97 Ram 4x4, 5.2L. If I drive like a grandpa it seems to shift fine. If I get on it a bit, it shifts fine thru 3rd, then jumps back into 2nd for about 3 secs, then back into 3rd, then OD. And then its fine til I come to another stop and it does it all over again. Any ideas?

1997 dodge ram transmission

My transmission was hesitant shifting out of second,I added a pint of TransTune made by Seafoam.Drove it last night at about 25 degrees outside,It shifted better than it ever has. This product can be added to your existing transmission fluid. If you use Lucas you'll have to change the fluid and leave out enough fluid to add the Lucas to it.They say both products are good.

And a fluid change doesn't hurt either.

Re: 1997 Dodge Ram Trans

Check that your T.V. cable is properly adjusted. It caused that problem with my 2001.
