Do i need a new battery with a swap

Since i did my b16a swap the battery connections wont tighten down enough to stay securely. every 5 starts or so i have to pop my hood and reconect the battery. Is it because my battery was for my hatch and not integra? Does anyone have any quick fixes or the right way to solve it. thanks

Re: Do i need a new battery with a swap

A quick fix would to jam some wire between the terminal and the post. The right way would be to go to the auto parts store and get new terminals that will tighten down better. They are cheap and come in neato colors! Red/black of course! lol.

ditto, also, if i remember correctly, integra and civic batterys are the same, or same shape just different crank amps

a good idea would be to upgrade to a gel battery like an optima yellow top

Actually the integra battery ....smaller length than the Civics ...but its wider.....now infact you can cram a 800-900cca battery into an integra....whereas the largest into a civic would be 550-650.....now if you remove the plastic battery tray in your civic then you can run a large Group 24 battery (4th gen only)....I have a optima blue top in my Sedan....and I have custom 6v Gel Deep cycle golf cart batteries in my hatch.

....Yes I work for a battery company.

or you could take your tray out. pound the shape out of it and reform it so that your battery now sits down really low like this:

I have dual 6v's.....to make the 12v required....they only have about 550 cca....so its still plenty to crank the 150amp integra starter in my B18.....but I needed them for bigger reserve with my Subwall.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Do i need a new battery with a swap

i had an orbital in it's place. long story short, it was a bad battery and i got screwed by the place i got it from. so for now i have that other battery in it's place.

the orbital used to rub on my intake. so he reformed the battery tray and now i can stick any battery in there without it hitting the intake
