Angry 2005 Corolla already in repair

I just bought a brand new Corolla last Thursday - 5 Speed transmission S Model. I was so excited, drove my dad home to drop off my old car, and on our way back to the dealership to pick up his car, my BRAND NEW car lost power! I was able to pull over, but couldn't get the car to start again. (The engine would turn, but wouldn't catch.) My car didn't even have 100 miles on it!!!

We had it towed back to the Dealer, the next day they told me that fuel is not getting to the fuel line. They put in an order for a fuel pump, but that hasn't arrived yet, so after a week I'm still driving an ugly rental, and they have no ETA for me.

Has anyone else had a problem like this? I didn't even have my new car for 3 hours and it's already in repair.

I just bought a 2005 Corolla too. Although I haven't had the same problem. There have been 2 occassions were the car did not want to start. After 2-3times it did start. I've brought it in and they said they would change the computer in the car... but I'm wondering if it it may be a problem with the fuel pump.

I have a 05 corolla for about 2 months.
With the engine already warm up, park it for
about an hour and it is hard to start sometimes.
But it starts fine when the engine is cold.
Took it back to the dealers few days ago to the service department,
they checked everything out and said nothing is wrong & it shows
no error code in the computer. I am taking it to another Toyota dealership tomorrow and get a second opinion. Hope they find something wrong this time.
I traded my 01 corolla for a 05 corolla, my 01 started fine everytime, doesn't matter hot, cold, half cold half hot or the other way around.

Re: 2005 Corolla already in repair

Just got back from the dealer again, they didn't even try to work on it, they just drove it around the block, call me on my cell phone and said that my car is ready for pick up. I know they didn't work on it because I was there the whole time.
When I drop the car off, I told them that I want a second opinion because last mechanic who worked on my car was very young (looks like someone just finished highschool) I am sure he can do good tune-ups, brakes or oil change but maybe lack of experience when it comes to trouble shooting.
So he said if they didn't find anything wrong, then we are not going to find anything wrong either. I mean what kind of customer service is this, they didn't even try to help.

By the way, crOmerO & mesv33, was you engine light on and was there an error code??? My engine light was not on & it has no error code.

Re: 2005 Corolla already in repair

i deal with these cars everyday, and toyota is just plain goin nuts with the soaring corolla/matrix/scion sales that they are losing focus on the dependability they are so well known for. In my experience these days, new isnt necessarily better!

QuikShifter, you work in a Dealership?
Do you know what else I should/can do?

What kind of new car should I get next time that is reliable?

Re: 2005 Corolla already in repair

yeah, but not a major one tho. however, i would press them hard for a replacement car due to the fact that you didnt even have it for 24hrs.

Im not sure of what kind of cars you like but ive found great flexibility in parts and dependability in older hondas and toyotas and some nissans.

Replaced belt in brand new 05 corolla

i had a squeaking belt in my brand new(45 days old) 05 corolla. had to get the serpentine belt and the tensioner replaced. dont know why it happened. now this has made me paranoid to all noises from under the hood. dont know if its a good noise or a bad one. now there is a slight ratttling noise from under the hood but doesnt seem to come from the belt--sounds like its comin from the top part of the engine (probably one of the 4 pipes tht seem to be comin out of the engine). noise starts as soon as i start the car. cld it be tht something is loose ? how can this happen in a brand new car ?

I don't know if this could be part of the problem with the new corollas but I heard that now GM and Toyota are sharing parts. I read it somewhere on this website. Don't know if its true or not.

I am having the same problem. Did you find out anything on the problem. The dealership keeps giving me the run around. Saying that if the car does not act up while they have it they cant do anything about it. so if you have any idiea on what i could be that would be great.
Thanks
