This is going to sound ridiculous, but it really is bizarre. Has anyone out there every removed/replaced an Intrigue sun visor? I just spent 30 minutes in a junkyard with three of their finest mechanics and still don't have the sun visor I went there for!! What's the secret??!!!

Re: Sun visor
Tricky operation. The pivot must be rotated in the retainer by putting a screwdriver in the slot and twisting the visor from the windshield to the door. This is very hard to explain...
You will most likely break the retainer in the process, but it is not expensive.

Thanks for the info. I do see a slot there......will attempt again. The junkyard mechanics were unable to remove it!! I hope I have better luck; the dealer wants more than $60 for a new one!!

I tried to do what you said, but to no avail. Any other info would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Sun visor
the visor slides/turns on the spindle. Slide/turn/pull the visor the spindle towards the middle of the car and you should be able to see what you are doing.
This also adjust the visor so it fits on the catch. Hold the spindle with one hand while you move the visor with the other. |

Hi -
I found this post and was hoping I could get a hint from someone who successfully removed the sun visor. I have tried putting a screwdriver in the slot and basically using the existing (broken) sun visor as leverage to turn, but it won't move. I'm trying to turn the slot toward the driver door. Am I turning it the right way? Appreciate any help offered. |
