engine swap in a e38 750

hello you all sound like knowledgeable people, wonder if you could give me some advice, would it be possible to put a 535d engine in a e38 750, i have found out it will fit, they made a 730d but not in rhd and the 535d engine is basically the same size etc. also would i have problems with the auto box i.e. would it mate up to the different engine?

many thanks

I'm sure it would fit since they put that engine in the 7-series cars in some countries. Make sure you have the proper electronics for the new engine and I suppose there are other things when going to a diesel engine: Fuel pump&tank?? Exhaust? Emissions equipment?

But whether it would mate to the existing transmision is beyond my knowledge. Try the www.roadfly.org E32 forum. There's a guy there named Gale who replaced his automatic transmission with a manual outfit. He may be able to help you.
