Unhappy GMC new Sierra dash lights/display

The gearshift and odometer display in my 99 GMS Sierra often does not light up, particularly in colder weather. I can get it to come on by hitting the top of the dash a few times, but it won't stay on. Has anyone had the same problem? And fixed it?

Thanks, John

Re: GMC new Sierra dash lights/display

Thanks

Do you know the procedure for getting the module out of the dash?
