transmission experts????

hello there....here is a new one for you, and before you say try the search option, already did that and didnt find one post that really related to my problem.
1999 JGC limited, 4.0 six cylinder....2WD...
driving down a highway, 70 mph, overdrive button on, cruise control on...running around 2100 rpm's...started noticing that the rpm gauge would raise up 200-400 rpm then go back down, then really started concentrating and could feel the car shift...almost like it was going to another gear and back to overdrive, but it was every so slight....so I dont think it was kicking to 3rd gear...is it slipping or something. I have not checked the codes, or the oil level YET....oh and it was like 30 degrees outside but the car was at normal temp. just wondering if someone has heard of this before or something normal before I start diggin in...thanks in advance!!!

Re: transmission experts????

It sounds like an electrical problem as long as the fluid is fine i have a 99 with trans problems too i'm taking mine to the shop today to see what is going on i'll let you know what's happening with mine even though my problems seem worse than yours

Sounds like it is going in and out of lockup. Check the codes also check the fluid. Fluid is very critical and can cause the problem. Post back the codes.

checked the codes today, it came back with nothing...also checked the fluid level with the car in neutral and warmed up...perfect level. I drove it yesterday and it was about 50 with bright sun, ran perfect....but I did not take it on the highway and set the cruise control. what about a flush, or the bands??? thanks for all the help...
