Question 91 f150 high idle

Hi all
Well I have got it running but now it idles at about 1700rpm in park.
Heres what I have replaced so far
-Had to get a 93 EEC-IV, couldn't get a 91 one but works fine
-Idle Air Control
-Whole new distributer including ICM
-EEC Relay
-Fuel pump relay
and just changed the Throttle position sensor with no change.
It runs fine with the exception of the high idle. I just can't seem to get it down. Any suggestions?
A buddy sprayed carb cleaner around the intake to check for leaks but nothing. I love this truck but it is driving me nuts.
Here in OHio a high can make slippery roads interesting.
Thanks all ahead of time.

when you set the timing did you unplug the spout? set it to 12 deg btdc and when you start it let it idle for a few min so it can relearn the idle.

Re: 91 f150 high idle

Yes I did unplug the spout. I have the timing set pretty good but I cannot be for certain exactly where it is at. My gauge on the balancer is corroded and not readable so I put it just below(about 1/4") the shark fin looking point at the top. But I set it while idling at 1700-2000 rpm. It seems to run ok other than the high idle. These stinkin computers are really irritating.

Re: 91 f150 high idle

Well I double and triple checked everything I can think of. Still can't figure it out. I have put 150 miles on it with no change. Can't seem to find any vac leaks any ideas?

Re: 91 f150 high idle

You guys are gonna laugh at me and I deserve it! I have changed all that stuff, which truly was bad when we tested it. BUT!!!! It turns out when it was at the shop they cranked the idle up because they couldn't figure out the IAC was bad! SOOOOOOO when I changed the IAC and stuff the idle was way too high. I fiddled around with it today and noticed that the butterfly wasn't closed completely and Viola! Its alive and not taching out! Thanks for all the advise!
