Unhappy 96 Sable trans

I have a 96 Sable Wagon, 112,000 miles. Sometimes when you pull up at lights or intersections the trans just sits in between gears and then drops in with a bit of a thud. Someone said there are sensors in the trans which might be causing it, any ideas?

no clue about sensors, but i'm doing research tonight to try to find out abotu similar problems in my car.

change the tranny filter first and see if that helps any. helped on mine. but i'm still looking at rebuilding a transmission that's a factory pos anyway. so that's all the help i can give. and rebuilding the tranny is going to be more than the car is worth unless you do it yourself.
