Headlight problem fixed with new Alternator

Has anyone changed out the alternator with the new GM part # 10464469 to confirm that this really does solve the problem? With the cold weather that we are having now I do not want to end up stranded somewhere on the side of the road, but I am torn between trying the new GM alternator and the Bosch replacement unit.

I am having the same problem and I was out of town so, Thinking it was related to the cold somehow. I put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator on the side that the alternator is on. I haven't had the problem reaccur yet.
But I went to the Dealer ship and had them print me out the TSB. It pretty much says that 1999 to 2001 models will be fixed by the replacement of the alternator w/the part number you mentioned. I would not use another brand because you can't be sure if it is the right alternator to solve the problem.

I am going to leave it with the card board unless the problem comes back
