where can i get the turbo rear end?

as some of you may know i want to make a 2+2 twin turbo conversion.
i dont have the money yet so i will start buying and putting in the litle things i may need to make the entire conversion and i know i will have to change the rear end gears. Does anyone know a good place where i can order the gears? Also does anyone know if it will make an improvement in the performace of the NA engine? will i be able to notice an improvement there?

putting a TT rear end on your n/a will DECREASE performance dramatically.

the TT rear end has a 3.69 final gear ratio and the n/a has like a 4.2 or something like that.

if you do a TT conversion you will want to keep your N/a rearend and get a custom driveshaft amde to fit. unless of course you really want a very high top speed. the n/a diff. will make your car accelerate faster than a normal TT but at the sacrifice of top speed.

personally, im keeping my n/a rearend and getting a custom driveshaft made.

thank you for the advice i will always go for acceleration thats what i like
i will always sacrifice top speed over acceleration. anyways how much do you expect to pay for that custom driveshasft so i can have an idea of how much they cost? another thing is there any other gear ration to give it a litle more acceleration?

im sure you can get some a custom gear ratio made up for whatever you want but that will cost more money than its worth.

the n/a diff. has a very nice gear ratio...just stick wth that.

as for custom driveshafts...im getting one made by http://www.z1motorsports.com i am getting this one because i want the full steel 1 piece driveshaft they offer so i will never have to worry about it snapping in half through my floorboard or the carrier bearing going out. plus it is relatively cheap at $250 a pop last time i checked. there are a few other companies that offer this almost identical driveshaft at the same prices. just look in the sticky's for a lost of Z stores...

but im sure a local shop could customize your existing driveshaft to fit your needs for alot cheaper. just a matter of what you want...

is your 2+2 an automatic or 5-speed??? if you are doing an auto to 5-speed swap, i recommend starting with the parts for your 5-speed conversion. some of the parts to swap out your auto for a manual are hard to find at a decent price. z1motorsports also offers a full 5-speed conversion kit but i think it is quite overpriced...

always remember, ordering a front clip will save you a lot of time and headache in the long run when it comes to finding parts. but if you can find the parts that you need and piece everything together yourself, it can possibly save you quite a bit of money and you may end up with alot better parts...

Like K3 says, the N/A rearend well handle anything you want to put into it, and do it quicker being it's a 4.01:1 final gear ratio. Your close K3.
If you use a one piece drive shaft just get one for a 2+2 N/A for what ever transmission you'll be using, and if you build the engine the increase in RPM you'll make well makeup for the top speed you lose going to deeper gears.

As for the driveshaft, it will be quite a bit cheaper than what you'd think. I'm getting a custom one made up and its going to cost me $300 AUD (probably about $220 USD), fully balanced.

You could always get a 350Z-style carbon-fibre reinforced plastic one made up, but thats probably going to set you back around $500 USD or more.

good choice...you should be a little faster in the 1/4 mile than a stock TT if your motor is stock just because you have a higher gear ratio.
