Re: making a sleeper

Imho, a good sleeper is a stock looking Metro hatch with a removed back seat and a 75-shot.

For a 240SX, I'd go with a swap. I'd say a VQ35DE, just for the heck of it. You're looking at a minimum power gain of almost 90hp just from the swap alone(weakest VQ35 has 240hp), and the VQ weighs less than the KA. Big power to weight increase.

In addition, you can probably run a 125-shot, maybe more with a fuel system upgrade. That means you're looking at over 350hp, and lots of torque.

Keep the body stock, with dings, dents and all. Look into a 5-lug conversion, which would allow you to use some of the bigger steelies out there. For example, I think the Crown Vic Interceptors and 9C1 Caprices use 16s. It could give you more options for a performance tire, while still downplaying the car's looks.

As far as suspension goes, look more for actual function than a nice drop. Low ride height does not necessarily equal performance.

Re: making a sleeper

LOL, match the headgear...that's good shit.... But seriously, any guy can be packing heat like any car could do a burnout in 3rd gear going 90mph on the highway, don't judge a book by it's cover, right?

The 240 doesn't need anything with more torque than the engines that came in them. The wheelspin is bad enough. Now imagine a VQ35 with nitrous.... Can you say Torque Monster?

All you need for a 240 to be a sleeper is leave the outside alone and slap some soft compound tires on the back. Get 250whp to the ground and you could pretty much take any reasonable street car.

Re: making a sleeper

the best sleeper has to look all stock, not ricey. Like a 2002 toyota camry, white, all stock, stock rims, and does a 9sec quarter mile that would own everything
