Question ABS Light

ABS Light is out at engine start but comes on and remains on for remainder of trip - Advanced Auto diagnostic shows "no faults". Any ideas or suggestions please?

Re: ABS Light

Check fluid level in master cylinder.
Also: Mismatched tire sizes or a tire low on air can cause the light too.
(The sensors measure wheel rotational speed )

this may sound weird, but take it through a good carwash, i did that with mine, i had the same problem, but after going through the carwash the ABS worked, a friend of mine whos a mechanic told me that junk can build up and block the sensors, and the car wash will clean it out and at least for me, it worked again

Smile Re: Re: Re: ABS Light

I had the same problem, finally took it in, was told having brake lights out ( think I had 2 of the 6 out, this includes one of two in the third tail light) will trip the light, turning off the ABS and cruise. I first didn't believe this, because in the same car once, have a tail light out caused the turn signals to stop working, and I didn't have that problem now. Mechanic was right, fixing the lights solved the problem. He did show me how to get to the third tail light, the top panel piece is held on by tabs, and velco pieces, which it looked like he broke when taking off. Best to use a putty knife to separate the front of it, when working from back seat. I had to clean the dust and crap from 10 years of hard life from the lens. Now it will be seen.
Of course your problem could be a hundred different things as well, I just relearned fix the simple things first.
