233,000 but Dripping-- need help
I've got a good friend who bought a 1990 Celica GT last year, and it's been leaking oil since he got it.
I told him he should try to find out where it's leaking from, and also have a look under the radiator and oil fill caps, at the dipstick, and at the exhaust when he starts it up in the morning. He says it's leaking near the passenger side. He says there's no sign of oil in the radiator, but he described the coolant as green and "gooey." He says the oil cap is white and frothy, and hasn't looked at the dipstick yet. Starting it up, the exhaust appears normal. He's basically kept the car running over the last year and a half by adding a quart of oil every time he buys gas. Questions: Are there any other tests he can do to figure out what's wrong? (I'm pretty sure it's the hg though) Are there any other things he can look at to decide if his engine is worth saving? Besides doing the hg, what else needs to get done at the same time? (valves? timing belt? water pump?...) I knew the guy who owned the car before him too, and it would be a shame to let this great car die. 4Runner Imposter in the House of Celica!

I had a problem w/ lost oil, you should check the dip stick seal. It's right there when you pull the stick out. If it's broken when you top off w/oil it spits out onto the exhust.
