nothing has to be removed to replace the belt.

You just put a rachet on the tensioner pulley. Put the rachet on the actual pully and spring it back so you can remove the belt.

Then pull it back when you install the new one.

My compressor went bad on the pully side and has a leak too. The dealer put dye in the refridgerant to see where the leak was and it's all over the backside of the pully. How was replacing the compressor? I have a Haynes, but the part itself seems soo expensive I don't know if I should just ride with the windows down.

I put a new belt on this morning and no sqeak. Will see what tomorrow morning brings. Thanks to all who replied.
