This is supposed to be a shot of Mr Selldorff's silver F1:

You might find others on this forum by searching for #068.

I have seen the black F1 with the 'MI MAC' plate - Jeremy Clarkson used it to race a Skyline GTR in a video found all over the web actually, but I don't know the chassis number. I'm not familiar with that car being associated with 'Need 4 Speed' assuming you are referring to the video game series. I believe that the car they used was XP5.

Steve (McLaren240!) sent me these additional pics last week which he found and I have finally taken the time to upload them to share for him. Sorry - been busy and kept forgetting about them...

Anyway - there here now.

Sorry for the delay Steve - thanks for sending these on.

I went into uni yesterday and asked myself two question that i have asked myself before that i though i might throw open to you guys.

1. Dese anybody have a clue as to what is happening with the old F1 showroom seems to have been deserted for along time now considering where it is slr comming?.

2. has puzzled me for a long time how did they get 065 in and out of the showroom i just cant see how they did it without taking the window out 065 did come and go she unsurprisingly dissaperd around may day for instance did they really have to take the window out each and every time. Sugestion or a answer would be much appreciated.

Incidentily the dorchester seams to be the home of the slr there are plenty of them always there so i had a snoop around odviousley looks better on the street than it does in the showroom in the flesh its not to shabby as they say.

It doesn't seem to me that they will ever re-occupy the Park Lane showroom. I suspect they had either two 5-year, or one 10-year lease on the space and when that ran out - concurrent with the sell of of TAGAudio - they decided to close the doors and sell the display car. If they had planned to display an SLR in there, I suspect it would have gone right in once XP5 was removed as it lived there for a short time after #065 left and before they closed up shop.

As for how they got cars in and out - I haven't a clue. Chris has been there a few times, maybe he knows.

Re: Wanted!

No idea. He's right. It would appear they would have to remove the window

I rember xp5s arival well gave me a bit of a shock as i went by on the bus.

I know they took 065 out for Mike Tyson to have a test drive when he came to the uk there was an article about it in the sun newspaper. Ment to ask thay lady how they did it but always forgot when i was in there. Though prehaps it went through the back wall but have had a good look spacificly that wall seams rath well.. solid cant see any gas that might emply it got out through there some how also the stares to go down to the basement? Are behind the car Prehaps they got the roller in and out of the short live park lane showroom the same way through the window belive i saw that hapen once that car would change every so often to. Sound like an expensive process to me anybod else want to take a crack at this one?

EDIT the article dint say very much Tyson visit was contraversial the pice was about his amazing spending and it mention the test drive and there was a photo of him in the car anybody got that pic id like it. Dont think hes an ower though i could very well be wronge alegidley hes in more debt than not and i rember his roler going through qv500 i rember thinking it might have been reposesed and WTF do you do if he comes to take it back? Anybody know if he was ever or is an owner?

As far as I am aware Tyson was interested in buying an F1 but McLaren didn't want to sell him one.

I don't remember any mention in the papers at the time that he took a test drive and he certainly wouldn't have been able to carry out this in 065, for the reasons mentioned above.

Hmm he definatley took a run it was definatily at the showroom and definatley a silver car in the rob report article on 065 it cleary said that it had only been used on test runs. Dont know if it was in all the papers but was definatily in the sun its what caused me to ask the how did they get it out in the in the frst place. Most of the article was about his spending hugh sums (which i recall he later dint cough up) for a watch and outher stuff in a jewlers. At the time i rmember talking to discussing with someone about why they let him do it as his financial state was well known. The best that could come up with was either that he had the earning potential or that it was done for publicity.

O and anouther thing reviewing some of my pis i noticed something odd on the drivers seat back some apear to be plain carbon ala 007 hmm lovley where as some the seat backs appear the same colour as the frounts as in 028? the red one and 048 anybody know anything about that?

As far as I am aware 065 was not road registered and therefore not road-legal.

With all due respect, the Sun has never been known to let facts get in the way of a good story.
