voyager wont shift outta 1st

my friend has a 93 voyager with the V6 and it will not shift out of first gear i think it maybe the shift module. any ideas it is non drivable and he need it fixed quick!!

This is commonly a limp home mode when some trouble codes appear, however, I think it is usually 2nd gear. My van had that problem when I bought it which made it very affordable. Switching the relay on the firewall with the back up light relay fixed the transmission but then my backup lights didn't work, great trade as far as I was concerned until I bought another relay. They were 2 relays side by side on the firewall under the windshield just to the left of center facing the engine from the front of the vehicle. Great way to test the relay is switch them.

This fixed my problem Thanks!!! Would you happen to know the part# or the name of the relays?
