2004 Eddie Bauer Expy - transmission sounds whiny

Is any one having a problem with a whining transmission? The car has been great with the only other problem being the tire pressure sensors seem to be "flaky" a nice feature - "when it works".

I had the 2000 Eddie Bauer 5.4 and we took it in because the transmission sounded whinny. They said that was normal for the 5.4. My problems were the tires, coils and air suspension.. I just traded it in for a Lexus. I was thinking I could at least get 100,000 miles from it but after 3 coils out in one month at 80,000 I was done. That was 5 coils total that had gone bad. Had they changed the design of the coils I would have bought another one. Of course the thought of it catching fire was in the back of my mind also.. I loved the Expedition the way it rode, handled and looked. I just couldn't keep getting stranded..

Are you speaking of engine coil problems with your 2000 Eddie Bauer Ford?

What factors influenced you to specifically choose a Lexas (4X4?) when trading in the Eddie Bauer..as opposed to other options?

Yes I am speaking of the engine coil problems.. I had looked at the Lexus about 6months ago when we were looking into getting another car for my son. We ended up buying him a uses Ford F150 instead of giving him my husbands F150 and getting me another car. Then after the 4th coil went out we decided to sell the expedition and get something else. I hadn't had a chance really to test anything when the 5th coil went out two days later but I was stuck the Lexus dealer close by and having heard wonderful things about the carRX330 and service went in and bought one. I was going to look at the BMW X3 but I have heard more negitive about BMW and a friend has the X5 and doesn't like it. So it was a quick decision but I am happy with the car so far.
