Message Center Troubles on Z71

I have a 2001 Z71 and the message center seems to be acting a little funny. The Security randomly comes on while driving the vehicle and it will not go off until I turn off the truck and start it up again. And my change oil soon message came on a couple of days ago. So I changed the oil, and following the manual's instructions(turn key to run, press gas pedal completly 3 times within fives secounds light flashes for 5 seconds and system is reset) I have followed these instructions and my oil light still flashes. I also can't get the tape player to stop saying CLN on the display, and have also followed those instructions.
