speed sensor failure

On my 3.5 l 2001 Aurora I have now had the speed sensor fail for the third time. I only have 62,000 miles on the car. When the same part fails three times, I begin to wonder if this part is actually the cause of the problem or is a victim of some other problem. Does anyone have any info on this failure?

Thanks,
Lou

Re: speed sensor failure

Ive got a 95 and I seem to go through a lot of speed sensors myself. Sad thing is they are attached to the wheel bearing and you have to replace the whole bearing just because the sensor goes bad.

Ive come to the point where I just let the TC be disabled and just live with it. I dont like the TC anyway. Its better than spending a few hundred bucks every year.
