Can anyone help, I've got a problem with my onboard computer, All of the previous records are reset, this includes my time, distance travelled, oil temperature & weather temp. This also resets my service indicator.
This happens whenever I start my car. I've already checked the fuses & everything seems to be in order....any help will be appreciated. Thanks Last edited by niquibong; 01-11-2005 at 09:09 AM. |

Re: '93 Golf Mk3 GTi onboard computer problem
Is it happening when you restart or when you turn off the ignition? Turn the key back to on & see if it's reset. If so the power back-up is probably bad, unfortunately I'm not sure where the power feed is from. It should be through a fuse, possibly hidden in a seperate holder above the main fuses, near the relays.

It resets whenever I start it, the best way for me to describe it would be to say, everything resets once "extra" power is needed to turn the starter....

Re: '93 Golf Mk3 GTi onboard computer problem
I'd suspect the ignition switch (electrical part).

Thanks...I'll get an auto electrician to check it for me.
