Nice, you would deffinatly beat me every time. Finally someone who answers my question. Lets see how many more brave sould there are. Did you ever run any better than a 14.7 stock? It seems to be the norm. How do the magazines always get better times?

Re: 1/4 mile times

Fastest was a 14.7 stock. Magazines get better times by posting corrected times. Corrected times are the times achievable if conditions were absolutely perfect. Fastest time i've had according to those standards would have been at Palmdale at LACR with a 13.7. Corrected it was a 13.4 due to elevation according to the tower.

Thanks for the info. I live right by the beach though, and I usually only see 14.7's stock. I don't know, most the people that have the cars around here are little rich kids whose parents bought their cars for them. They are probably all crappy drivers. I wouldn't mind it if my parents gave me one though. Too bad it could never happen.

It's not the price of the car that kills me, it's the insurance costs. I have a 4 point record. And in California it's 4 points in a year = lose your liscense, 5 in two years = lose your liscense, 6 in three years = lose your liscense. I got 4 in just over a year. My insurance for a WRX would be over $300 a month. While paying for college, it would be too much money to dish out every month. Maybe when my record cleans up I will get one.

I might move to Texas some day. At this point I will never be able to afford property in California, and smog regulations suck. Texas is deffinatly looking mighty good for the future.

Re: 1/4 mile times

Alabama (my home state) = even cheaper, and there are turns in the roads what with the mountains and trees and all...

No offense to the real Texans on here, but I dislike the lack of nature here in Texas. Small hills and scrubby trees and LOTS of cows. My insurance, though, is quite low.

I did 3 runs with a stock WRX at the 1/8th. His ET's were always .1-.2 faster than mine, but my trap speed was always higher. I run 14.7's stock, so he was probably running about the same in the 1/4.
