Civic swap...

Everyone always asks where to get a cheap engine so I'll ask how cheap can I get one....and then find out where.... I need a B16c and was wondering if anyone has seen one any less than $5k, which is the cheapest I can find. The only thing is, the guy with that price wants me to get an RSX Type S engine because it is "less expinsive"(only buy about 3 or 4 hundred bucks and has about 80 less horsepower(at least thats what he says......) Someone HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please tell me which engine to go with.....

Re: Civic swap...

There is no such engine as a b16c maybe you are reffereing to the type r engine code (b18c5) or if you want a b16 there are a couple of different versions, you have the b16a, and the b16b. both are good motors. Best place online to purchase an engine would be either hmotors, Import auto salvage, or totaljdm.try search this topic has been cover millions of times.

Re: Civic swap...

Do you have an Si? If you do then you should go with the K-series since you already have a K in there. Otherwise you'll need to give more info on what you're looking to do with it.

Whoever told you the RSX had 120hp motor was saddly mistaken. The regular RSX has a 160hp @ the crank motor, the same motor in the current generation civic Si Hatchback. The RSX type-S has a 200hp @ the crank motor.
