WRX or RS
I am looking to get a subaru. I just want to know which car has more aftermarket parts for it and which is able to make more horsepower.

Re: WRX or RS
Tons of aftermarket parts are available for both and either can make more horsepower, the real limit is your wallet.
If you have the money, get the WRX and got from there, the options are vast and you have an engine which is already boost prepped. The RS engine tends to have a limited life once it's boosted.

Re: WRX or RS
Eventually, the RS will make more horses. It takes a lot more money to make the horses surpass those of the WRX though (for the same amount spent on the WRX). You might as well have bought the STi at that point and upgraded it. There are *more* aftermarket parts for the WRX, but there are plenty for the RS as well. Unless you have lots of money and your own garage, the WRX will be the more powerful of two; your horsepower per dollar ratio will be better. If you are poor and just want a fun car, the RS is highly recommended, though. If you are slightly less poor, go with the WRX. If you have money, get the STi.

Re: WRX or RS
From what I gather, the RS gets moving faster than the WRX at low rpms (i.e. in the turbo lag phase of the WRX); but the WRX is much better at the higher rpms e.g. on the highways.
Since you're asking about aftermarket parts and hp, it seems like you wanna mod the hell out of your car to own some people. If that's the case, no contest, it's the WRX....however, if you want to be original, get an engine conversion and drop the WRX engine into the RS without doing many body mods. Total sleeper

Re: WRX or RS
The RS has the same body as the WRX, so it wouldn't be sleeper at all... It would just be slower. :-)

The RS does have the flat hood as opposed to the scoop as well as the WRX has the side skirts.

Re: WRX or RS
That's what I was getting at. No hood scoop, people will just asssume it's a RS (why wouldn't they?)....but packing an EJ20T.....rice killer!! hehehehe

Re: WRX or RS
you'd have to FMIC it, as the TMIC needs the scoop. Easier just to FMIC a WRX and get the RS hood. Probably cheaper that way, too.

Re: WRX or RS
I've been having the same dillema. Except my difference is that I wouldn't mod the WRX. Should I get a RS and mod that(I/H/E and FI)? Or just get a stock WRX and perhaps chip it? I've heard pros and cons of both, and was wondering what your takes were.
