Question 2000 GMC Sierra Tranny Problem

My 2000 Gmc Sierra Extended cab truck has a possible transmission problem. While driving, whenever I hit a large bump in the road, the transmission dissengages causing a loss of transfered motion as if the clutch is depressed. Note, This is an automatic transmission! The transmission will just whine during this period but reengages after a second and normal driving is resumed without problems. Has anyone experienced this problem or know if a bulletin has been issued for this problem?
