Sounds like his fuel line kit going to the CPI injector is shot.

Ah, that is your EGR being clogged with carbon.

Buy a new EGR gasket, remove the valve, remove the carbon chunks in it, spray it thoroughly with TB cleaner and reinstall with the new gasket.

Then reset the computer by pulling the negative battery terminal for 5 minutes and you are good.

It just happened to mine 3 months ago.

If it won't idle when you are decellerating but runs perfectly when you are accelerating, chance are that it is the EGR valve.

BTW, don't drive it like this anymore, get it fixed ASAP.

It will foul your plugs up very badly if you let this go any longer.

When you pulled the upper plenum to change your CPI unit, did you note if anything was washed (one side cleaner than the other). Did you note if the driver's side was washed? One of the problems may be that you should also change your nut kit (inbound/outbound fuel lines inside the intake) It's very possible when you changed the CPI you cracked those lines. Over time they become very brittle and pulling them from the CPI unit can do that. Pull the plenum again. Check for that. (nut kit is about $45.00 at the dealer).

You are dumping way too much fuel. This can also cause your Cat converter to clog up. So watch for that. Have your ignition module checked as well. It may be causing misfires. And make sure the small vac hose is attached on the back of the plenum. This will affect your idle. Pull that plenum!!!!!

Sounds about right.

Good fuel economy. With O2 sensor replacement I did 5 months ago, I was pulling in 24mpg on the highway straight 60mph.

Actually, it is rather warm. 30f which is too warm for this time of year, the roads are grimy and slushy.

Makes for a really filthy truck.

You are under a artic outflow jet which is affecting North America right now and freezing you guys rather nicely.

It will get here to Ontario soon.....it always does.
