escort wants to stall after warmng up

My 1993 Escort wagon starts fine and then runs fine for 5 minutes or so. But then it starts wanting to stall when the rpm's are low - I have to do the heal/toe thing at stop signs to keep it revving fast enough not to stall.

At the same time this happened, my radio started acting weird - I lost FM, then after a week I also lost AM. Now the LCD lights that show the stations don't light up at all. Also, the dome lights stopped working. But the car starts fine, and it sounds like there is plenty of juice going to the starter motor. It's been around 0 degrees lately and I've had no problem getting it started.

I'm thinking it's something with the battery or alternator, but a friend suggested it could be a vacuum leak that doesn't kick in till the engine gets warmed up. But why would that cause the lights/radio to fail also?

Sounds like a bad ground/connection somewhere start simple and check battery cable connections are clean and tight then check the condition of the battery. then check around the alternator. If you can take it to autozone and ask them to check your charging system (its free) or if your handy use a multimeter.
