headlights

help.1988 pulsar nx 1.8dohc.when switching from high to low beam the left lamp works fine.the right lamp is intermitent at times.lamp is very dim on high and low beam when not working.i have replaced the headlight and turn signal switch.i also have a completely shop rebuilt head for a 1.8.if interested please let me know.in advance thanks.

Possible electrical issue, rather than the light itself?

I had this problem. It is dirty contacts inside the headlight switch on the dashboard. All the power for the headlights goes through there. If you carefully take it apart, you can use electrical contact cleaner and very fine sandpaper to clean the contacts.
