Error code 14
Hi all, replaced engine and I got the check engine light on after 5min of operation. Car runs good 'cept for a "hunting" idle after the engine is warmed up. Error code 14 is for the 'Coolant Temperature Sensor circuit. High temperature indicated.'
huh????? I haven't had the car over heat. in fact the temp gauge always is on the cold side of middle. Couple of questions. 1 where is the blasted thing? 2 what does it do? does this affect my hunting idle? Thanks for the help/insite Steve |

Re: Error code 14
its screwed into the upper side of the throttle body under the air cleaner housing, look for 2 small water hoses that go the the throttle body, sensor is between them. if it goes bad the idle will cycle up and down

Re: Error code 14
How may wires are there?
I have a sensor under ther air cleaner as discribed AND I have a sensor next to a small water line 3/8" od from intake to throttle body. the sensor in the intake does not have a wire connected and I cannot locate one either. Could you provide a pic? email to [email protected] Thanks for the help. I DO appreciate it! Steve |

Re: Error code 14
its in the throttle body assembley, not the intake manifold, has 2 wires going to it. the one that has no wire going to it in side of intake is mostly for automatic cars
