Angry lacking power and jerking

having problems with 99 escort 2.0 in cold weather its hard to start . if it sits overnite i have to crank it over for a while b4 it will fire up . you can tell its trying to catch but it takes awhile for it to finally start.only does this if it sits the longer it sits the harder the start. it also is jerking when im driving down the road like its starving for gas or something doesnt do it all the time. i added some gasline antifreeze and it helped but not sure it still does it im thinking fuel filter or plug wire might be arcing. the plugs are pretty new so i think im ok there.

yes take it to autozone they will check the code from the computer. (free around here) Sounds like you need a tune up (plugs, wires) Also sounds like one of your wires could be arcing. When its dark out start the car and pop the hood see if you see blue sparks jumping from wire to wire or wire to metal. Let me know how you make out.

Replace ur plug wires with 9mm plug wires. Replace your plugs too, Motorcraft Platinums gapped to .052-.056 .

haha, yeah I do. You can get them at AutoZone for like $14. I HIGHLY suggest the 9mm over the 8mm because I fried 1 old set and 2 brand new sets of 8mm wires within a 10 minute period. The 9's are still on the car and goin strong. The plugs I suggest, have given me the best mileage. Better than Bosch or Autolite.
