Help!!!

hey guys/gals,

I have a 92 integra GS. I was wondering why there are so little parts for them! can you use parts from the 94-01 gen? Can you swap a b-18c into a 92? please give any info yall have. I just need to know what parts there are and what can be interchanged thanx

i'm not sure where you are looking for the parts but, where i live there is a huge amount of parts available for our 2nd gen tegs. and yes a b18c will fit into your teg. now you are going to have to do some rewiring for the vtec. it is not that hard but needs to be done right. and many parts for honda/acura's are interchangeable. it's finding the right one's. but you and i have alittle more trouble b/c our car is a little older. it would be slightly easier for the 3rd gen teggies. like i stuck in an engine from a 99 crv. and it would make it a bit easier if you told us the parts that you wanted to interchange.

BooHoo.... try finding parts for a B17 then talk to me. J/K anyway what parts are you looking for? It should be relatively easy to find replacement parts for your car and as far as performance parts you should be able to use most parts from a B18b in your B18a I think.

okay sorry for the lack of clarity, I was wondering if you could take an apexi N1 exhaust system from a 3rd gen and put it on a 2nd gen. Also would like a ashort shifter from a 3rd gen be compatible with a 2nd gen? and like cold air intakes are compatible right (3rd-2ndgen)

nope all those parts are not compatible. just about anything body or chassis related will not fit

engine wise its a little more flexible, but not transmission (ones hydro, and ones cable)

the parts you listed though are a dime a dozen as far as performance and aftermarket goes for a second gen.

you are not looking hard enough.... or should I say at all.

just type in p[erformance parts into google and hundreds of sites will pop up, then just go find what they have for your car. a good start... though i don't like their prices would be modacar.com

okay thanx, so about the tranny if i got a b-18c swap kit the tranny would not fit or work?

a b18c should bolt up and work with your tranny but the tranny that comes with a b18c will not work in your car.

okay thanx, but having the power of a b-18c on a GS tranny with 130000 miles will tear it up fast wont it. And just wondering why it wont work is it because GSR has hydraulic tranny and the GS has cable or w/e?

ok a B18c is out of a 94+ integra gs-r. All integras from 94 and on had hydraulic transmissions. Your car is a 92 GS. All 2nd gen (90-93) integras had cable trannies.

In order to put a hydraulic tranny in your car you would have to do a cable to hydraulic swap which can get involved. If you really want a different tranny I would recomend a cable tranny from a B16 powered car. This will help your acceleration a bit because of the gearing.

However I doubt the added 30 Hp will tear up your tranny as you put it. As long as your tranny is running fine now and has been taken care of it should be fine.

First off thanx for all this help. would making the cable to hydraulic swap make a difference in accelleration compared to the cable tranny of the 92 GS.

just switching from a cable to hydro tranny will not affect the acceleration. Acceleration is dependant on the gearing of the individual tranny. A gs-r tranny has better gearing than a GS/LS/RS tranny. and a Type R tranny has better gearing that the gs-r. However like I said earlier a tranny out of 94 or newer will not work in your car due to the cable/hydro thing. If I were you I would do some more research and find a cable tranny that is geared better than your GS tranny.
