i was wondering if a turbo from a 85 daytona could be put on a 85 laser.

No, you can't just swap the turbo from a turbo Daytona to a TBI Lazer. You can do it, but there is a lot of work involved. It just isn't worth it to make it work right.

You'd basically have to take the complete engine, transmission, and wiring harness to include the computer, and swap ALL of it over to your n/a car.
I wouldn't do it personally unless the body on your car is really good, the car has sentimental value, or you don't have the ability to find a turbo car. However, if you really want a project, go for it! There are a lot of GLH's running around with commonblocks and TII conversions on '88-89 electronics, which is about the same as what you are looking at. What Polygon is getting at is that turbo 'Tonas are too easy and cheap to acquire to make it worth it most of the time.
