02 Grand Prix Altenator??? Noise at Idle
I have a 2002 Grand Prix with 3.1 engine. The engine makes a whining sound at idle, but stops when you put the rear window defroster on. The dealer changed the alternator, but that only stopped the noise for a few days. Now he tells me they can't fix it. I've heard that Pontiac has been having problems with a resonance between the heater hoses and the alternator, but the fix is difficult. Anyone else had this problem and been able to correct it???
