Just changed Master Cylinder and bled brake lines.

Hey all, OK I just got done changing my master cylinder and bled the brake lines because the master cylinder was shot and the brake pedal was practically going to the floor. Ok I haven't driven the car yet because it's in my garage and off the road for the winter. After finishing bleeding the brakes, the brake pedal is very stiff and only pushes down maybe an 1"-2". Is this correct?? I thought it would depress a little further down than that. Any options?? Any thought greatly appreciated.

stiff is gooooooooooooooooooooooood lol

its when you put a pound of pressure on the pedal and it drops to the floor and doesn't come back up that you have problems lol

try to roll your car in your garage, start it in nuetral then push the clutch down and try to put the shifter into 1st and Reverse, see if it grinds or anything. Then start your car with it in 1st gear and see if the car stays still. These are some quick simple tests to see how the cluth is working

Re: Just changed Master Cylinder and bled brake lines.

OK....I just pulled my wifes Van out of the driveway and took my 240 down the street for a test-drive to check the brakes (no inspection, no insurance, and no plates....Fuck-it). The car brakes beautifully. No sponginess.... nice and firm. Thanks for the feedback guys!!
