axle and front transmission mount went out not clutch

Got my car back from the body shop and within two minutes could not get the car in gear. Feels like the clutch is not grabbing. Push it over to the side my mom gets in it and puts it into first right away no problems what so ever. Drive it about 4 days does it again. I manage to get it into gear almost right away. Then make a u-turn it goes out again. Get it back decide it's time to go home since it will be impossible to find a tow truck on x mas day. Pops out while i was driving about 3-4 gear i believe. Coast into a neighbor hood try to put it into gear and you get a grinding kind of sound. You can go through the gears without ingauging the clutch the the mph slowly climb up about 20-25 in 5ith and car seems to chatter worse as you go through around the firewall towards the passanger side of the car. Getting it towed as we speak but don't get off of work until tuesday to take a look at it. Do you think it's the clutch or the cable for the tranmission My car is a 91 honda crx si thanks for your help in advance

well, when you get it, have someone step on the clutch while you watch to see if it moves the clutch arm on the tranny housing. if it does, then be [re[ared to get dirty. let us know what happens, we'll help

Re: clutch went out?

If The Car Wont Get In Any Gear, Clutch Trouble. Probably Need New Clutch Or Reapair. Check T.o. Bearing. Not Easy. For The Mean While I Guess Drive W/out Using Clutch. Turn Car On By Placing In 1st. Then Starting Car.

Got a chance to get underneath the car looks like the front left axle is starting to seperate out of the transmission is the easiest way to explain it. You push it in both wheels turn u pull it out a little bit only one wheel will turn. Also looks like the front transmission mount is broken and missing a bolt. How hard is the front transmission mount to do. I will probley just do both of them my self.

If ur lucky with the axle u might be able to gently tap it back in with a rubber mallet, ive had my right axle slip out a lil and a gentle tap put it back in. the tranny mount on the front is ez, just put the car up on stands get a jack under the front part of the motor and jack it up nice n slow till it ligns up nice and then presto send the bolt through. If i were you id drain what lil fluid u have remaining in ur tranny and put in the recommended amount which is what 1.5qts? i recommend going to ur local honda dealer and picking up there MTO oil. neways good luck with all that. If its ur clutch... it took me 4 hrs to do mine, loosen a few bolts, pop out ur axles from the tranny, put a jack under tranny loosen all the bolts and then its smooth sailing from that point. And a good stock Borg-Warner clutch cost me $120
good luck man!

Re: clutch went out?

Also, check to make sure that your shift linkage is all intake. It could be a broke n shifter fork inside the transmission. Jackup the car and have someone go thru the gears while you look at the linkage to notice anything abnormal or out of the ordinary.
