Question K&N FIPK Gen II

I am now thinking about purchasing a K&N FIPK Gen II to help increase gas mileage. I have done a study on the K&N stock replacement filter and it proved to give me worse gas mileage than before. I drove it the same way before I put it in, conservatively. I read that the FIPK can provide up to 3 mpg more. Horsepower and sound isn't what I am going for either, so I drive very conservatively. If anyone has any information about the FIPK for a 2004 Tahoe 4.8L and what to expect, it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, thinking about installing a Commando remote starter FM-870-TK. I'll post another update about that when it is installed. Later.

Opinions very on that statement, I got 2-4 mpg more with my K+N, Even installed one of those Tornado fuel atomizers, I do alot of Hwy driving though.

I also installed the K&N FIPK in my 2001 tahoe 2 years ago and I only noticed about 1-1.5 mpg increase. I was hoping for an average of 2 mpg. I think I lost 1 - 2 mpg because I installed a larger tire on my tahoe. I get about the same mpg after the tire and k&n installs.

Car and Truck makers need to keep their CAFE (corporate average fuel economy) ratings up as high as possible to avoid govt penalties. If any of these gadgets truly worked I'd bet they would already be designed into the vehicle. Most of these products have been proven bogus by several govt and independent labs
