Few questions on my A4
I have an 01 A4 1.8T AWD (auto
) I have a few questions. When the car is at idle, it seems to idle roughly at around 800rpms The tach needle isn't steady. It sometimes raises and drops between 7 & 900 RPM's. Especially if I turn the steering wheel (sitting still at idle) Also, my trunk is hard to lift. Maybe it's supposed to be a little stiff, I'm not sure. But instead of letting the trink lid drop close like I do on my Accord, I have to physically push it close on the A4. And Finally, is there a way where I can turn my fog lights on without turning on my headlights. I want to be able to turn on my park lights then turn on my fog lights. If I'm not mistaken, the new A4's can do that. Thanks

Re: Few questions on my A4
The Idling issue is prob either spark plugs need a clean or the outside temp is quite hot.
As for the rev fluctuating when turning the wheels at stand still this is because the power steering pump feeds of a belt connected to the engine and so puts a load on the engine affecting your bad idle. Audi world will have a few write-ups on the subject on fogs & driving lights so check there first. Try this one. http://www.audiworld.com/tech/ext32.shtml

Thanks.
I'm gonna change plugs and wires this weekend. Also, I'll get my fuel injectors cleaned. A friend of mine works at a car wash where they do oil changes and fuel injection cleaning.
